Six Mile Lake
Six Mile Lake Project Video |
Flagstone Patios, Granite Steps & Outdoor Lighting

This video shows the project under construction.
At this Six Mile Lake cottage, the landscape design began with conversations about how the family uses the property. We discussed where they gather, how they entertain guests, and what they wanted each outdoor space to feel like. We also talked through their expectations for the investment, from potential resale value to the value of spending more time together at the cottage.
Jeff Argue Landscaping reviewed the project with the clients and their bunky contractor to coordinate the outdoor layout with the other work on the property. A survey of the site’s elevations helped inform the design of the stonework and access routes. The scope included demolition of the existing deck and realignment of the driveway.
The Six Mile Lake project brings together outdoor gathering spaces, natural stonework, and landscape lighting to make the most of this waterfront property. Designed around how the family spends time at the cottage, the landscape connects the patios, fire pit, bunkie, and shoreline while preserving the natural character of the site.

Granite Slab Steps

Granite slab steps provide a durable connection between the property’s different levels. Their natural look suits the Six Mile Lake setting, while their placement helps family and guests move between the cottage and outdoor gathering areas.
Custom Granite Flagstone Patios

Granite patios create distinct places to sit, dine, and spend time outside. The custom granite flagstone patio with a firepit gives everyone a place to gather after a day on the lake. Its design brings the outdoor living areas together while making room for both quiet evenings and larger visits.
Outdoor Lighting

Landscape lighting makes the steps and patios easier to enjoy after sunset. It also draws attention to the stonework and planting areas, giving the cottage grounds a warm, welcoming feel in the evening.
Softscaping

Mulch and native plantings soften the edges of the granite features and help the new spaces settle into their surroundings. This softscaping adds seasonal colour and texture while preserving the natural character of the Six Mile Lake property.
The result is a cottage landscape shaped around the family’s routines, their guests, and the experiences they want to share outdoors.
