Custom Granite Steps, Flagstone Patio

A waterfront landscape should make it easy to move between the cottage, gathering spaces, and the shore. For this Penetang Bay project, Jeff Argue Landscaping planned a connected outdoor living space with natural stone hardscaping, drainage improvements, softscaping, and landscape lighting.
The project includes:
-
A custom granite flagstone patio and walkway
-
Granite slab steps and staircase realignment
-
A waterfront patio with a firepit feature
-
A patio around the house and a large entertaining area
-
A sunken hot tub
-
Upgrades to existing hardscape elements
-
Drainage improvements, garden mulch, and landscape lighting
A Design Built Around Family and Entertaining
Our consultation began with conversations about how the family spends time at the property and how they want to entertain guests. We considered the routes people take from the house to the patio, hot tub, and waterfront, as well as the kinds of spaces the family wanted for quiet evenings and larger gatherings.
We also discussed what the clients expected from their investment. That included potential resale value, more time together as a family, and the experience they wanted the finished property to provide. We reviewed the project with them during planning so the design reflected their priorities.
Custom Granite Flagstone Patio
A custom granite flagstone patio creates room to relax and entertain while complementing the natural character of Penetang Bay. The project includes patio space around the house, a larger gathering area, and a waterfront patio where family and guests can enjoy the view. A firepit feature gives the waterfront space a focal point for evenings outdoors.

Granite Slab Steps
Granite slab steps provide a durable connection between areas at different elevations. As part of this project, staircase realignment improves how people move through the property and connects the updated outdoor spaces. The new steps work alongside upgrades to existing hardscape elements to create a more cohesive landscape.

Granite Flagstone Walkway
A granite flagstone walkway links the home, entertaining areas, and waterfront. Its natural stone surface gives the property a consistent look while making the route between key spaces clear and inviting.

Softscaping and Garden Finishes

Softscaping brings planting and texture into the stone landscape, helping the patios and walkways feel at home beside the water. Mulching the gardens gives planting beds a finished appearance and supports a tidy, cared-for look throughout the property.
Details That Support Outdoor Living
Drainage was considered as part of the overall landscape plan, alongside the patios, steps, and existing hardscape. Landscape lighting helps define routes and gathering areas after dark, while the sunken hot tub adds another place to enjoy the property.
Together, these features create a Penetang Bay cottage landscape designed for family time, waterfront entertaining, and everyday use. Jeff Argue Landscaping designs and builds custom stone patios, granite steps, walkways, and outdoor living spaces for properties around Georgian Bay and Muskoka.
